You’re displaying all the hallmarks or a Left-Wing troll: Ad hominem attacks, claims that arguments are refuted without actually doing so, and appeals to authority as if there were such a thing as a “respected climate scientist”: that’s a contradiction in terms!
And everyone who disagrees with your point of view has to be in the pay of the oil companies. What an asinine accusation. If anything, the oil companies are in my pay: I buy gasoline for my car. And Big Coal are also in my pay: I use electricity.
And while I didn’t actually deny “that global average temperatures keep breaking records every year” and I agree this Century is warmer than the last, as a matter of fact, this year is cooler than last: NOAA summary below:
My position is not denial of warming, it is that the possible harmful climatic effects have been exaggerated, and the positive benefits of unlocking stored carbon back into the carbon Cycle have been greatly under-appreciated.

In short, the war on Carbon is in my view a serious mistake: CO2 is a beneficial plant food, not a pollutant, and so far, the warming appears to have improved the climate, not made it worse. Warming after the last ice age finally ends is inevitable, and sea levels must inevitably rise by 1.8 mm/yr, as they have been doing for the last 10,000 years. That’s around 7 inches per Century. I think we’ll cope.
Note: I have cited Australia’s CSIRO, the NOAA and freeman Dyson. None are funded by Oil Companies to my knowledge.
