You contradict yourself at every turn and repeat accusations you know are untrue. You can’t spot monsters a mile away, you fantasise that people you disagree with are monsters. That’s all in your head, not in the real world.
“ His mimicking of a disabled reporter? There are plenty of clips of Trump making exactly the same moves when criticising his attackers who were not disabled: he was acting out their confusion and stupidity, not their disabilities. But if you keep repeating the lie, eventually people will come to believe it. Nice to know you learnt your political propaganda tactics from Goebbels.
“ When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best.” This isn’t disparaging Mexicans per se, but illegal immigrants: He makes the valid point that people who are prepared to enter the country illegally may well be open to breaking other laws. He is prioritising sending convicted criminals home first, then suspects whom the police think are criminals but haven’t got enough evidence to convict: they can prove illegal entry into America, so they can deport them back to their country of origin. That’s fair.
‘“He’s not a war hero,” said Trump.’ Heroes traditionally win battles and take prisoners: being a POW is unfortunate, and McCain may have suffered at the hands of the Viet Cong, but that doesn’t make him a War hero. If you listened to his speech, which he wrote for himself, by the way, then you know he does care about our Armed Forces and our Veterans. He was responding to a cheap shot from Senator McCain who is very anti-Trump for a Republican.
“ I am becoming physically ill by writing this piece.” Violet, please! Spare a thought for those of us who READ it.
