Well, that’s definitely the silliest thing I’m going to read today! It is hard to know where to start: EVERYTHING you say is wrong, and more than that, is nonsense.
Eliminate Capitalism, you say? Capitalism is just the economic system that allows free trade between a willing seller and a willing buyer. It facilitates the generation of new wealth, and has lifted billions of people out of poverty. The poorest people in the world today live where the Capitalist system has broken down due to war, socialism, corruption and cronyism: they are all bad things, but they are not Capitalism. What do you intend to replace Capitalism with? Some sort of Utopian Collective where all resources are held in common? You would have to kill the current owners of those resources first, which is while Socialist Revolutions must necessarily be bloody, with massacres followed by purges, firing squads and Gulags. The lesson the 20th Century teaches the 21st Century is that Collectivism (Socialism and Communism) does not work. It is a simple lesson and backed up by testing Marx’s theories to destruction at the cost of millions of lives. It has never worked because it isn’t workable, so can never work. What you call Capitalism is just economic freedom, and what you cite as the flaws of Capitalism are the criminal actions of unscrupulous people and corporations distorting Capitalism: if you want to rein in unethical behaviour within the Capitalist system, I could agree with you there, but eliminating Capitalism is not the answer: it isn’t even possible.
When children are scared by climate change, we need to tell them that any sentence that starts with “According to climate models,” is bullshit. Computer models are not science, they are little more than computer games. Show me some real world evidence, not computer simulations: they prove nothing. 100,000 years ago, before the last ice age, the world was 3 degrees celsius warmer than today, and today’s deserts in Africa, Asia and Australia were rain-forests; due to a simple fact of Physics: A warmer world is a wetter world, due to increased evaporation of oceans. More rain, longer growing seasons and the beneficial effects of increased Carbon Dioxide levels in the atmosphere all make plants grow faster, and grow in places they cannot grow today. http://www.thegwpf.org/content/uploads/2015/10/benefits1.pdf
Is the Climate changing? Yes, it is growing warmer, and has been doing so ever since the last ice age started to wane 10,000 years ago. It will continue to warm until Earth reaches its normal interglacial Temperature of 3 degrees C warmer than today. The sea level will continue to rise and the coastlines in future will be several miles inland from where they are now, but no further inland than they were 100,000 years ago. Human carbon emissions may have slightly accelerated the end of the last ice age, but it was inevitably going to get warmer anyway. Stop scaring children with your Climate Change Apocalypse stories: the land lost to rising sea levels will be lost slowly, can be reclaimed by engineering works, and will be more than compensated for by the flowering of the areas currently deserts. https://www.csiro.au/en/News/News-releases/2013/Deserts-greening-from-rising-CO2
You may not agree, but I challenge you to prove me wrong. I can prove your assertions wrong easily: “The climate will take 400,000 years to recover”. The geological record shows that “The world has seen cycles of glaciation with ice sheets advancing and retreating on 40,000- and 100,000-year time scales called glacial periods”. Since the current interglacial is over 10,000 years old, the next ice age is due in the next 50,000 years, well before your made-up 400,000 years! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_age
If benign Global Warming scares you, wait till you experience Global Cooling: Ice ages always result in massive die-backs in animal populations. In the next Ice Age people will pray for Global Warming!
