“That’s worth reading a few times.” Yes, for the purposes of understanding that the courts can make such a stupid, irresponsible ruling. There’s a big problem with this judgement: “The Government has pointed to no evidence that any alien from any of the countries named in the Order has perpetrated a terrorist attack in the United States.” This is a staggeringly stupid argument. The idea is to make sure this terrorist attack does not happen: we cannot afford to wait until after an attack has occurred before we act to stop it. There is plenty of evidence that there are ISIS cells active in those countries named in the Order that want to perpetrate a terrorist attack in the United States. We are trying to stop a future terrorist atrocity from happening. Future, not past. The judgement is backward-looking and requires that we wait for another 9/11 to occur before we take action. These Judges are supposed to be highly intelligent, but stupid is as stupid does.

Trump was at least trying to prevent ISIS agents entering the USA under cover of refugees, as they have successfully done in Europe.
