Quite a bit of that speech is what Donald Trump did say. Most of his speech was about thanking the volunteers and first responders, plus promising more Federal funding it the situation requires more.

His response to the disaster was swift, decisive and effective. Compared to the response to Hurricane Katrina, it was a text-book 100% success.

The only way in which Harvey is greater than past hurricanes is in rain. It was a category 4 storm compared to Katrina’s cat 5, and had winds gusting to 175 kmh compared to Katrina’s 280 kmh. Oddly it comes after a 12 year period of unusually quiet with no major storms making landfall in America.

Those who seek to blame Hurricane Harvey on Global Warming, making political mileage out of Texan suffering, have no justification for this view. It is weather, not Climate.
