“most of the left still tends to support individual freedom where much of the right still tends to oppose it.” If that was so you would not have the constant attempts by the left to shut down freedom of speech, labelling anyone who doesn’t swallow every last one of their “progressive” slogans as Homophobes, Nazis, Misogynists, Deniers, or a “basket of deplorables.” Antifa are known for physically attacking peaceful protesters for the sin of questioning Leftist Dogma. That’s a funny kind of individual freedom that does not allow people to question Climate Change, Same Sex Marriage or the destruction of Civil War Statues without being vilified or assaulted.

I think we will have to agree to disagree, but that’s OK. It is a free world, and you are entitled to your opinions. In a civil society, people can disagree on policy, but still be civil to each other, even friends.
