“It is a direct assault on our most basic human right and a dangerous slippery slope that is already transforming the universities, from hotbeds of debate and opposing opinion, into thought controlled indoctrination centres.”
Our high schools have already gone down this path, having abandoned the goal of teaching students how to think, in favour of teaching them what to think. Graduates have a full set of progressive beliefs, little better than slogans, on everything from LGBTQI rights to Climate change, and repeat the slogans like sheep instead of engaging their brains to think about coming up with independent opinions of their own. “Oh, you must be a Denier!, Racist!, Homophobe!, Nazi!” is their answer to everything.
It is worrying in the extreme that our Universities are going down the same path, but I noted that they started down it at least 10 years ago with the assertion that only “Peer Reviewed” science articles contain truth. The peer review process is itself deeply flawed and prone to corruption, but to say that being published establishes Truth is a direct attack on the Scientific method. They got away with that, so their attack on free speech, justified by protecting the easily offended from being offended, will probably get up too, unless people of good will oppose this arrant nonsense. You can’t have freedom if you don’t have freedom of speech.
