“ In the dark light of the Harvey Weinstein revelations we are all hyper alert to sexual harassment and inappropriateness.” Yeah, we obviously are: way too sensitive. Wouldn’t it have been better to have called Harvey Weinstein out 20 years ago, than to rant in feux outrage about the names of restaurants? Apparently his behaviour was an open secret in Hollywood but he was tolerated because he was a good movie producer. That’s a whole lot more offensive than a restaurant being called “Uncle Ho” or even the admittedly offensive “Mesohawni”. We are at risk of losing our sense of humour through Political Correctness which stops us saying anything offensive while pproviding cover for sexual predators who abuse their positions of power. Hollywood is simultaneously the Temple of Political Correctness (Remember the idiot celebrities queueing to endorse Hillary Clinton?) and the sinkhole of rape culture. The two seem to go together.
