Socialism is a “a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the State.” Hitler favoured control over ownership, but the effect is the same, State control:

Hitler’s Germany and Stalin’s Russia were identical in State Control, oppression of the citizens by Secret Police, and the use of Central Planning to run the economy (into the ground). Both were terrifying totalitarian Dictatorships with only minor differences in Rhetoric.
