I’m not a huge fan of Trump as a person, and he does say some silly things: he has no filter between what he thinks and what he says. That does not mean he’s a Nazi, nor does it mean the Nazis were not socialists: read Hitler’s own words on the subject:

“We are socialists, we are enemies of today’s capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the economically weak, with its unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being according to wealth and property instead of responsibility and performance, and we are determined to destroy this system under all conditions.”

The Left resist the idea of National Socialism being a variant of Marxism, just Nationalist and racist, rather than Internationalist and racist like Stalin’s Soviet Socialist Republic. I can see why: they already own Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot and Fidel Castro, so owning Hitler too would pretty much confirm that Socialism plus political power = Totalitarian Dictatorship. Instead they spin a fantasy that Nazism is the opposite of Socialism, when they are clearly the same: the true Left and right is not a spectrum from Left Socialism to Right Fascism, it is from Left Big Government central planning to Right Freedom and the Free Market. This is what should be taught in school: we have a choice between letting controlling governments take our freedoms away, or limiting the power of government and preserving those freedoms.

It makes little difference to the individual if the secret police are Gestapo or NKVD when they break down your door in the middle of the night. Stalin and Hitler were like mirrors of each other.
