I understand your patriotic defence of Russia but I’m not making this stuff up: Russia has effectively annexed two regions of Georgia and continues to occupy them: Read the “Russian Position” for some imaginative fictions: in fact the border is gradually creeping further into Georgian territory.

Putin hasn’t officially annexed Ukraine either but unbadged Russian soldiers make up the majority of the “rebels” in Eastern Ukraine, and it is effectively occupied by Russia to this day. It may well be that he is doing all of these military interventions out of fear of NATO establishing bases on his border, and trying to create a buffer zone of independent states between Russia and Western Europe, but it certainly is russian aggression to those on the receiving end.
