I thought “The conflation of the left with liberalism is a method of neoliberalism in the preservation of capitalism” was as bad a piece of semantically null gibberish as I was ever likely to find, but you managed to write whole pages pages more of this; what I think is a disagreement between two Leftists, Wolcott being a revisionist I take it?
There is no chance of a Socialist Revolution delivering anyone from oppression: Socialists + Power = Nazis. We gave Socialism half the planet in which to test Marx’s theories last century and all of the Socialist Governments were a total failure: Hitler’s Germany, Stalin’s Russia, Mao’s China, pol Pot’s Cambodia, all oppressed everybody except Hitler, Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot.
Socialism does not and can not work: firstly because Central Planning of an economy does not work, only Capitalism can match supply and demand efficiently, and only Capitalism creates new wealth. That’s the economic argument which supposes that the Dictatorship of the Proletariat is a temporary necessity to safeguard the Revolution, but that isn’t true either. George Orwell put it well when he identified the core problem of a Socialist dictatorship:
“ The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power, pure power…. We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship.”
That is why the Left are wrong in everything they believe to be true, the pretty lies in the Communist Dialectic mask a reality of human suffering and oppression in the Socialist system that is far worse than any Capitalist system has ever come up with.
