I did say “at least in the West”, and agree the old “women as chattels” ideas are still predominant in the third world. You left out the Middle East from your list of benighted hell-holes, but Saudi Arabia, Iran and many other Islamic theocracies are the worst on the planet for women’s rights. I guess India comes under South Asia, too?

Glad you liked my story: treating everyone the same is a good start. I have undergone training to discern unconscious bias in my self and that was quite confronting.
