The Orwell quotes could be the basis of the Democrat Party manual:
“Political language… is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.”
Pro-choice makes opposition to abortion sound like opposition to freedom: it makes “murder respectable”.
Marriage equality makes opposition to gay marriage sound like opposition to equal rights, and Gay sounds so much nicer than Sodomite.
Black Lives Matter makes it sound like opposing their agenda is racist.
Universal Basic Income sounds like a right, not a handout to people who don’t want to work.
Whenever there is some divisive social engineering proposed by the left, the first thing they do is dress their policy wolf in sheep’s clothing of pretty words, because they understand that “if thought corrupts language, language can also corrupt thought.” Slogans and hate labels such as Misogynist, Racist, White Supremacist, Homophobe and Climate Change Denier are designed to hide the evil of the Left behind a screen of verbiage while demonising the Right.
I should add that I don’t care what consenting adults do in the privacy of their own homes, but the language of the gay rights movement has permanently changed the way non-gays think about them: I mention it only as an example of the power of language.
