This is a larger, demographic-based shift. And blaming Trump for Gillespie’s loss is simply foolish: need I remind you Trump carried states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and Iowa in last year’s election? He cruised to victory in Ohio, which is usually a nail-biter.

Let Virginia go. Trump has opened up several new states for the party. Virginia has been gone for a while.”
