Cryptocurrencies are untraceable, untrackable and untaxable, so are mainly used by criminals to get paid for drugs, guns and ransomware demands. They are by nature impossible for governments to regulate, and are the ultimate money-laundering scheme, so governments’ only recourse is to crinimalise them: make it illegal to trade in Bit-coin and other Cryptocurrencies. The currencies will then crash in value, and be consigned to a footnote in 21st Century history books under the heading “Fake Money”.
